Job Title: Deputy Manager in a Children's Residential
Location: Preston
Salary: up to £34,200 DOE
Working Hours: Shifts 2 on 4 off
Service: Residential Care Service
Service Users: Children and young people aged 8-17 with complex needs and challenging behaviour
Qualifications Required:
- 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting at a senior level
- Level 3 or 4 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent

About the Role:
Our client, a therapeutic children’s service provider, is seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Deputy Manager for their 3-bedded Children’s Residential Home. This role involves supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and managing the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Support the manager in all aspects of running the home and ensuring obligations set out in the children’s home quality standards 2015 are met.
- Assist in ensuring each young person's needs are met through effective assessment and care planning.
- Take the lead in setting standards, evaluating achievements, and securing improvements in service quality.
- Promote team development and effective team working.
- Facilitate and support young people in decision-making and promote choice and involvement in house meetings.
- Apply strategies developed in response to challenging behaviors and contribute to their review and development.
- Liaise with other agencies/professionals as necessary.
- Record information about young people and ensure communication with staff members.
- Delegate tasks to staff members and monitor their effective implementation.
- Ensure an effective induction program for all new employees.
- Undertake on-call duties as directed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
