As the Senior Metrology Officer, you will join our dedicated Metrology team delivering essential statutory services to a variety of businesses and stakeholders. Your role will be to advise, guide, and enforce legal compliance, when necessary, to protect both the businesses and consumers within Lancashire.

What we're looking for:

To be considered for this role, you must be an experienced and qualified Trading standards professional with an expertise in metrology. You must hold the Statutory Certificate issued under the Weights and Measures act.

It would be beneficial if you also had:

  • Detailed knowledge of working practices, procedures, and statutory requirements of a metrology practitioner.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a solution focused approach.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations.

This position is part time, 18.5 hours per week, ideally worked Wednesday to Friday.  Please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.
