We are currently recruiting for Composite experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support one of our customers with a project involving the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for composite materials used in aerospace applications with a clear understanding of structure, manufacturing, tooling, assembly process and system interaction. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The contract is deemed outside of IR35 for Sub-contract labour but Staff positions are available for the right candidates. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.
The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Programme Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them to be based at the Client's site.
Working within the ME team in our Aero Business Unit, successful candidates will join our experienced team, with whom you will work on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how.
Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for composite materials and components, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to develop and refine composite manufacturing methods, including layup, curing, machining, and bonding processes.
Validate new manufacturing methods to ensure they meet performance, cost, and quality objectives.
Resolve manufacturing issues related to composite materials, processes, and equipment.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions, process specifications, and quality control plans.
Sufficient years of experience in composite materials manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Strong understanding of composite materials, including carbon fibre, fiberglass, and advanced polymers.
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5) and EPICOR ERP system.
Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, including AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
