 Quantity Surveyor  - Maternity Cover 

 

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor  to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Area, Region. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career with Lanes Group, working closely with one of our most exciting clients. This will be 9 month to 12month fixed term contract as maternity cover. 

 

 

Working Hours & Location

  • Location Bamber Bridge
  • Hours of work 40 hours per week

About the Role

    Responsibilities – but not limited to:

     

    • Contractual knowledge to communicate with relevant parties ensure understanding the terms of contract.
    • Work efficiently and calmly to tight deadlines or other stress factors as they arise.
    • Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
    • Use of performance data to identify opportunities and implement commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlements and opportunities are realised.
    • Working closely with the Operational team 
    • Ensuring proper contractual administration of contract assigned, including value and cost control, and maintenance of  records.
    • Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost to allow prompt issue of Application for payment/invoice in line with contractual timescales
    • Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
    • Accepts extra duties as situations arise.
    • Management of Subcontract Accounts.

     

    Skills and behaviours:


    • HNC in Quantity Surveying would be advantageous 
    • Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civils industry desirable
    • Experience in QS role or Senior Commercial role 
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, Advanced Excel skills essential 
    • Strong commercial and financial acumen
    • Strong knowledge of contracts
    • Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
